Frequently Asked Questions

Are the screen savers and app free?

The macOS screen savers are completely free to download and use, with no hidden charges. The iOS clock app is available on the App Store; please refer to its store page for details.

Which macOS versions are supported?

macOS 12.4 (Monterey) and later, including Ventura and Sonoma, optimized for Apple Silicon and 4K displays.

Will I see an "unverified developer" warning?

No. All screen savers are signed and notarized by an Apple Developer ID, so they install with a double-click and no security warning.

How do I switch between clock styles?

Each style is a separate screen saver download. After installing, pick it in the Screen Saver list in System Settings. You can install several and switch anytime.

How are the iOS app and Mac screen savers related?

They are the same clock designs on two platforms: an app (with home-screen widgets) on iPhone, and screen savers on Mac. The styles match for a consistent experience.

Will it drain battery or spin up the fans?

No. The screen savers are energy-optimized: almost no redraw when the image is still, with automatic frame-rate reduction under heat or Low Power Mode, so they stay light even running for hours.

Do they support multiple monitors?

Yes. Each screen saver runs independently on every display and adapts to each resolution.

How do I uninstall?

Right-click the screen saver in the System Settings list to remove it, or delete the .saver file from ~/Library/Screen Savers. See the install guide for details.

Where are the screen saver files stored?

"Install for this user only" places them in ~/Library/Screen Savers; "Install for all users" places them in /Library/Screen Savers.
